$60,000 Worth of Scholarships This Year

While our 2021 Annual Meeting is cancelled, our 2021 Scholarship Drawing definitely IS NOT cancelled!!! All applicants who applied prior to the May 13th deadline were placed in the drawing for 30 — not twenty — $2,000 scholarships.

We held the random drawing for the scholarships on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9:30 am Live on our Facebook page.

We will be mailing letters to each of you with instructions on how you will receive your $2,000 for college or trade school.

Each year SLEMCO members can enter a random drawing to win one of 20 college scholarships worth $2,000 each for either themselves or their dependent children. The funds can be used by undergraduate students to attend any public Louisiana University or Community College.

Applications will be accepted from February 1st through the first Thursday of May each year. Applications are mailed in all February bills and are available at all area high school guidance counselor offices, the scholarship offices at UL, LSUE or SLCC. During application time, they’re also available to download here.

The funds can be used by undergraduate students to attend any public or private Louisiana University or trade school as accredited by the University of Louisiana System; Louisiana State University System, Southern University System, Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Louisiana Board of Regents Proprietary School System, Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities or the US Department of Education.  Graduate or doctoral students do not qualify.
